Week 46 of Joseph's life can be summarised with one word - climbing. The little legs are starting to search for new, higher up places to rest. Joseph loves the television and would love to get closer to it, I'm sure! He has climbed up onto his toybox in his bedroom to have a better look at the window and today I helped him climb up on the garden bed so he could inspect the hose.

However, the climbing is also starting to result in injuries and I am sad to report that Joseph received his first "egg on the head" on Friday. I had popped into work to print something and Joseph couldn't decide whether he wanted to sit on my lap or be on the floor. As I was helping him get down, he slipped and hit is head on my desk's legs - resulting in the bruise and bump on his right temple. He cried for a bit and was a bit clingy for the rest of the day!!

We had our first parent/teacher interview on Friday morning with Cristiana and Jeya at Bear Park. We learnt that Joseph is quite musical with good rhythm (not sure where that comes from!) and also very physically confident!! We talked about encouraging this adventurousness while teaching him some safe ways of descending (ironically the bump on the head occurred after this!!). Areas for focus are safety, sharing and friendship! He's only 10 months old so I'm not moving into pushy parent mode just yet!!

Here's a shot of Joseph and Dan being physically confident this afternoon! Joseph was giggling away like crazy as Dan pulled him up over his head and then dropped him down so he was hanging upside down.
