Week 94 saw us ring in the new year in Christchurch - although it was a very quiet night for us after a hectic week of visiting. Joseph loved going to see all our friends and their children as there was so many new toys to play with! We spent New Year's Day at the Botanic Gardens where they have a great playground and children's pool.

I wanted to take Joseph on the tram but when it came to get on it he was not at all interested! So, we went to plan B (which I thought was a bit ambitious) which involved Dan taking Joseph in a kayak on the Avon. They were away for about 45mins and Dan said Joseph really enjoyed himself - looking at the ducks, putting his hand in the water and waving at the other kayakers.

We had some super hot days in Christchurch towards the end of our stay and I ended up taking Joseph to a shopping mall one afternoon to escape the heat! As a treat we shared a chocolate sundae from McDonalds...although I think Joseph had most of it!
