Here is Dan and Joseph on Christmas morning looking at what Father Christmas had left - a new booked called "The Monkey Puzzle" (by the same people as "The Gruffalo") - we are currently reading TMP several times a day!
The best present of the day was the magnetic train set that Aunty Kate, GM Uncle Simon, Harry and Alfie sent over - it was the first present opened and after that nothing else registered...until we got to the end of the present pile and we opened the plastic teaset from Grandma Milly and Grandad BQ! I don't have any photos of any present being played with/utilised but will get to that over the next few weeks.
On Boxing Day we flew to Christchurch arriving to a 10 degree day - quite a shock to the system! We had to rush out the next day and buy long pjs for Joseph!
We were staying at Francis and Tina's house in Mt Pleasant and had the responsibility of looking after their three cats...Joseph chased away Fifi and Sanchez with his enthusiasm but Otis stuck around for some J-love.
We couldn't quite fit the portacot into the bunk room so made the decision to try Joseph in the bottom bunk...here he is on his first night in a big boy bed! Such a momentous night for all of us but Dan and I didn't sleep very well as we were alert to every noise. There was only one fall out of bed and another incident when I found him on his tummy with his head over the edge (still fast asleep!). He spent most of his sleeps in the big bed (except when we were out visiting or staying at Gerry's - then the portacot got assembled!).
