We have changed the bag that Joseph uses for daycare and on Wednesday morning he decided he wanted to wear it out to the car – still a little bit big for him!

On Saturday morning the three of us went to Rosehip CafĂ© in Parnell for a bit of morning tea. Joseph wasn’t interested in Dan’s pancakes at all but did enjoy the marshmallows and chocolate “sprinkles” from my hot chocolate.

You have heard/seen that Joseph is not a fan of warm clothes (parkas, socks etc) however (after months of trying) he decided that he would wear his parka after all. We were so surprised that we didn’t say anything and just put it on and zipped it up. Here he is looking quite cute in his car sear! FYI – the scratch on his chin is a result of me shutting the pantry door on his face last weekend – he was having a bit of a meltdown and he got in the way!

Finally, Joseph seems determined to drop his daytime sleep in the weekend. Here he is yesterday in his beanbag watching a DVD after having been lured there by Dan on the premise of having a “rest”. The only advantage no daytime sleep brings is that he heads off to bed early and sleeps soundly during the night. We’ve had to do some “tough love” again this week on the sleep front (Thursday and Friday nights) as Joseph has been waking up at 3am (or thereabouts) wanting to get up and play. So, there’s been lots of returning Joseph to his bed, shutting the door and listening to him cry himself off to sleep (by which stage Dan and I are wide awake!). However, we know that this is worthwhile and within a few nights things will have settled down.
